Today is the start of the Dust off an old book Blog hop
It’s my second year hosting this hop after it was a great success a year ago!
The idea is that all us quilters tend to hoard, I mean COLLECT quilt books and never get rid of them, so I encourage participants to find a really old quilt book, flip thru it and be inspired by it! There can be some really groovy stuff or some really ugly stuff too, just because fashion/trends have changed…. Then from that inspiration, make something with it, it can be something small or something BIG, something that just uses a block from the book or maybe just the colors or maybe do an exact copy? totally up to them!!
today is day #3
March 4
Check out what they’ve made!
I also have some sponsors for giveaways!

It’s been fun checking out the old books and projects. Thanks for hosting, Bea! If I wasn’t moving I’d have been right here hopping with you. Next year!
Fun projects so far this week!! Fun to see old patterns for quilty creations that I just don’t see any more!
This is such a fun idea for a hop–I hope you do it again! (And that you include me!) I have never made a medallion quilt but I have really wanted to try stained glass style quilting, so I’m excited about the possibility of this book! And I do like warm & natural batting, it has a lovely feel to it.
This is a fun hop! I love warm and natural batting and have used in mostly baby quilts!
It’s a nice batting!
Great hop, Bea! When you posted this new blog hop, I went to my bookshelf and found a quilt book that my Mom used for her first quilt circa 1969! Old fashioned templates and scissors. I ‘collect’ books as well and read them at bedtime.
so thankful for templates and gadgets we use today huh?
It will be interesting to see which book ends up being the oldest. ☺
