Today is the start of the Dust off an old book Blog hop
It’s my second year hosting this hop after it was a great success a year ago!
The idea is that all us quilters tend to hoard, I mean COLLECT quilt books and never get rid of them, so I encourage participants to find a really old quilt book, flip thru it and be inspired by it! There can be some really groovy stuff or some really ugly stuff too, just because fashion/trends have changed…. Then from that inspiration, make something with it, it can be something small or something BIG, something that just uses a block from the book or maybe just the colors or maybe do an exact copy? totally up to them!!
today is day #2

thanks! I made an antique baby version of it recently 🙂
I’m enjoying this hop so much! I wonder what my oldest book might be. You have inspired me to go through some of them.
do it, you either laugh or shake your head or will be totally inspired!
To answer the raffle questions: I have made at least one medallion quilt, I love Warm and Natural batting, my favorite jelly roll pattern is a zigzag design, and I haven’t chosen the patterns yet.
Thanks for all the great giveaways!
sounds fun
I use warm and natural all the time as I like the fact that it lays flatter than others seem to….
Hugs, Julierose
I’ve not worked on a medallion pattern before, but love warm & Natural Batting. It is one of my favorites to work with. I’m not a big fan of jelly rolls but am currently working on a table runner that is called Butterscotch Bars that used a jelly roll. It is a class I’m taking at my local sewing shop. And for the patterns… BL130 , BL102 & BL141 are 3 of my faves! – Sorry I missed your hop this year, I loved joining in last year! I got to work on the cutest Spring Wall hanger!
it’s okay, next year 🙂
I love using Warm & Natural batting, it’s my “go-to”!
me too!
A bargello is my favorite jelly roll pattern.
that IS A fun quilt pattern, I made one recently and it was fun!!
I have never made a stained glass quilt OR a medallion quilt, but I KNOW I will!!
One day, right??
I’m not sure how many comments I should be making here. I checked out your patterns and can’t really say which are my favorites. I love the star quilts for sure.
it’s okay, if you win, you can choose then
Boxed In, Patriotic Stars, and Garden of Eden are some of my favorite patterns!
The Jewel tones are so pretty in that Medallion pattern. I am about to get a king size quilted and that King bating would sure come in handy.
Jelly rolls look so pretty all rolled up. It’s almost a shame to open them up!
I haven’t picked a favorite pattern yet. Everything looks so pretty.
Lol yeah they do look pretty!
I don’t think I ever used Warm And Natural batting.
Thank you for another fun day of blog hopping!
Duck duck goose , and crazy daisy look interesting.
