Today my kids cleaned up their rooms REALLY well and we re-organized several things etc…
It’s so HARD to get them to do their Chores… SIGH
Then while my son was sorting his books he found this kids devotional book and we did some tonight.
Here’s one verse that stuck out:
Phil 2: 14
Do everything without grumbling or arguing
(Ha Ha, do your chores without complaining!)
but then wait a minute… maybe I should do my ORCA quilt without complaining too??? hmmm
-no comment- ha ha
This morning I did sew a little on the Orca quilt and then quit on it, instead started cutting out pieces for the doggie baby quilt.
I’m using the GO! cutter and the gingham dog die.
since the ears are a different fabric, I couldn’t avoid cutting them out in the body fabric.
Wouldn’t this make a cute little flower?
Here’s a trick I figured out, I first ironed one doggie to the background fabric.
then laid another background fabric on top, see the shadow?? this way I could line up the next doggie exactly the same and iron it down. I kept the bottom block and continued like this with the rest of the blocks.
I was only able to button hole stitch around ONE doggie tonight
tomorrow the kids start back to school, so I might actually get back to long arm quilting… poor quilt has been on the frame untouched for a while now. I just can’t do it when the kids keep interrupting be every 5 – 10 minutes, it’s easier to stop if I’m piecing or cutting, but not so much when quilting and especially on a customer’s quilt.
I might take breaks and work on more doggies, we’ll see.
(I’m NOT complaining!)
