The next scrap pattern I’m featuring this week is another one of my favorites
BEACH BUM
What I like about this one, is that the blocks are ON-point and the secondary block is not how you would think, so the color combinations end up fun and funky!
It is a nice lap quilt sized at 51″ x 59″ and I made this one with the 6″ Accuquilt QUBE set but always provide rotary cutting directions.
Here I sort of use 2 colors of scraps too in light and dark, one dark blue and light blue then light brown and beige plus the borders.
Often when I design or make a scrap quilt I look at a border fabric FIRST and then from there pull the scrap colors, or look at my scrap bins and then FIND a border fabric to go with those scraps.
One year I made this Christmas version of the pattern
And last year I made this girly version, which started with the unicorn border fabric then the peach inner border and then it went from there, even though the unicorn border fabric is light blue, it works with the pink and purple and peach scraps.
