Do you know designsbysick.com ?
Each day when I start my computer I have their website as a new tab on my mozilla firefox.
They have an hourly page where every hour there’s a new design to download for free!
each hour on the half hour it updates with a new design.
They also have a daily free design.
So whenever I look, if I see a design on the hourly page that I like, I download my file ext (pes in my case)
It downloads it and I can leave it in my download folder or click and open it
to remember the designs I also right click and save the image of the embroidery in the same folder on my computer
in my downloads folder I can then see all my downloads (I often wait several days to sort them)
If you click on TYPE on the top it’s easy to find the embroidery files and move them over to their own folder
I highlight them and right click and CUT and find the folder that I named designs by sick and move them over
On my C drive I have pictures/ 1pes files/ designsbysick free and I paste them in there.
You can see two folders where it’s files of ones I’ve purchased.
as you can see I also have the pictures there (well most of them)
this way if I want a random design for a quilt label I can quickly find it and see the picture that matches the file name and use it.
It helps a lot to stay organized once you start COLLECTING embroidery files, I have a folder for each website/company name so they are easy to find.

And if you want to read a little bio about the designers, look here
I was so excited until I discovered that DesignsBySick.com is for embroidery machines! What a generous site for those who have one!
Designs by Sick has machine embroidery designs digitized by a variety of designers. Some stitch out very nicely and others stitch out terribly. When I was just learning machine embroidery I was very excited to purchase their designs, as well as download their free designs. But as I obtained more experience I found better design houses and stopped shopping at DBS.QuiltShopGalwww.quiltshopgal.com
I agree with QuiltShopGal and will explain in just a moment. I purchased a lifetime member ship from Designs by Sick for $99 a few years ago. My girlfriend got it later on for $69. Even at the $99 that was a great price because now I don't have to mess with downloading daily or hourly. Now when I want something, I just do a search and see what designs they have and if it is something I want. Now in regards to what QuiltShopGal said, some of the designs are really quite nice and others are just a mess and I truly believe were auto digitized. Since they have a number of digitizers working for them I just know of one in particular that I stay away from and others that I know will stitch out beautifully. As a whole though I'm pleased with the site. I don't know if they do the $99 any more or not.
