Did you see the new dies from Accuquilt yet?
an EPP QUBE set!!!
How fun is that??
This was a secret that was very hard to keep, I tested these dies a looong time ago, then I also wrote the pattern inserts for it and the patterns for each of 36 hexagons AND I hand sewed them for the pictures at the bottom of the page and for Pam’s video going LIVE at 12 noon today.
I started off with these solids from Connecting threads (and a few pinks I added later)
I cut out the paper/cardstock and prepped 16 blocks as that’s how many cubbies I had in this little bin
The first block I thread basted
I quickly figured out why I DON’T do this method with English Paper Piecing, I just don’t like the look and feel and for me it’s not tight enough, so I got my sewline glue pen out and glue basted the rest.
This block is called “Crystals”
The next block was glue basted and MUCH better, this is “elevation”
here’s “Up and away” and “soccer ball”
this is “Atlantic star”
“Artic star”, “azure sky” and “Pacific star”
and “squared up”
“glitter”
“cross cube”
“bulls eye” , trilogy”
“crossroads” and “connections”
“festival” and “rose bud”
“cube star”
“X marks the spot”, “periscope” and “diamond chain”
“diamond star”, “ruffle” and “modern pyramids”
“jewel cut”, “fox in the hen house”
“paw print” and “crossed arms”
and lastly there’s “through the looking glass”, “posy”
“Groove” and “flower pot”
If I missed any it’s because I forgot to take pictures of them and they are already in Accuquilt’s hands.
several of these I’d like to sew together into something bigger or the same block repeated with maybe fussy cut squares, that would be fun too!
Great Job Bea!
aww thanks
So fun! I had no idea this was the big launch today. Your samples are beautiful! I like glue basting because it’s so much faster!!
thanks!
I’ve always wanted to try EPP. I even have papers to try and a few try it out kits but haven’t yet. It looks really cool though.
Go for it! if you already have a kit, you’re all set and it’s a great portable project!
I tuned into Accuquilt live today and saw the cube and all your fun pp blocks. Pretty!
