Did you see the new Accuquilt dies?

Did you see the new Accuquilt dies yet?

The first one is the GNOME die! I think it’s JUST adorable!!

I made this pillow for them and had the idea to really squash the beard and hat down on the middle guy so it looks like he’s short and fat!

I used scraps and with the gnome and Northwood die I made the pillow

It’s easy to fuse down with Heat N Bond

For the applique stitch, I did a freemotion sloppy line in dark grey thread and went over everything twice, so it kind of looks like a pen line or doodling.

Then I made the pillow 🙂

The next die is a pincushion die with applique shapes and the cool part about the long rectangle for the sides, is that it has the notches already cut for the corners!

I made LOTS of pincushions for them!

Two of these got returned to me but they did like the “pocket” idea on my red one.

I also made some hello kitty pink girl ones, they got returned too.

I also made one out of selvages and made a handle but that got returned too.

There’s more too so check out their site!

  1. My gnome die is already on its way – I love gnomes, having grown up with them as part of my Norwegian heritage. I cant wait to use the die! I really like how you did the stitching on your gnome pillow – it looks like sketching!

    1. Fun! yeah in Denmark I remember reading books about trolls, there was a whole book series for early readers. The trolls were more like the dark frazzled hair and no hats.
Thanks the stitching like that is meant to look like sloppy sketching, it’s a fun and easy technique!

  2. And you finally get to share your fun projects! The Gnomes are so cute:)

  3. Your gnomes are so cute!! Would you know if the quilt made from the 4 1/2″ hexagon and the 4 1/2″ equilateral triangle has Y seams? It’s called the Island Star quilt in the Go catalog. Thank you! Sue

    1. I don’t know the specific pattern but if you see two triangles to opposite sides of a hexagon so it looks like a diamond then you just see a bunch of those together in a row, so no y seams

  4. I love that gnome pillow, and I saw it on the reveal! So cute! This die is definitely on my wish list!

  5. I’m a happy quilter today. I received all three 6” cubes, my 3” tumbler die, the pin cushion die, gnome die, and the Arkansas Traveler 12” die. (I bought the GO! Gnome Sweet Gnome Die Bundle.)
