It’s time to sew the blocks together!
Last week we created piles like this after sewing the HSTs together into blocks, then added 4 of shape #8 rectangles and a #2 square
If you have directional fabrics, then pay attention to how the block is laid out and have the print right side UP
Sew a #8 rectangle between 2 of the HST blocks TWICE and also sew the #2 between 2 of the #8 rectangles (The rectangles are supposed to be on the other side of the block pile)
Sew the block together like this where the background color is in the OUTER CORNERS! (black in my case)
Sew all 12 like this.
Here you can see the print fabric I used how I was careful to have the block pieces facing the right way.
Bee happy until next week!
if you want to share pictures you can share on IG and tag me @bealeequilter and maybe #defenestrationQAL or you can email me pictures and I’ll share in the next post.
Beautifully sewn blocks, Bea! Love these fabrics in this pattern.
Just wondering how big the block should finish up to be? I learn go much from your blog. Thanks for all you do for us quilters.
