The Montana Yogo Sapphire is the only North American gem to be included in the Crown Jewels of England.
In 1888 Helena had more millionaires per capita than any other city in the world.
46 out of Montana’s 56 counties are considered “frontier counties” with an average population of 6 or fewer people per square mile.
No state has as many different species of mammals as Montana.
The moose, now numbering over 8,000 in Montana, was thought to be extinct in the Rockies south of Canada in the 1900s.
Yellowstone National Park in southern Montana and northern Wyoming was the first national park in the nation.
Montana has the largest grizzly bear population in the lower 48 states.
Montana is home to seven Indian reservations.

Ladies, make sure your clothing weighs in at more than 3 pounds and 2 ounces when you climb up on the table in Helena. Saloon table dancers are only legal with that amount of clothing.
Ladies, while you are weighing your dancing clothes do not peek at your husband’s mail. It is forbidden in this state for wives to view their husband’s mail.
If you see a group of at least seven Indians, feel free to shoot. A group of seven or more is considered a war party in Montana.
Keep your lips shut and your glance straight ahead. Laughing in public could cost you more than a thousand bucks.
When you settle down for a movie in Montana, be careful what you choose to watch. If felonious crimes are in the movie, you are committing a misdemeanor crime just by watching.
If you are single in Montana you cannot go fishing alone. Once you marry, it will remain illegal for you to fish alone.
