It’s time for another block for the Color of the month QAL
I know it’s going slow, sorry…. I DO prefer weekly ones too but this one is once a month for the rest of the year so please be patient 🙂
This month we’re getting out the blue scraps (Dark Blue to blue)
and we’re still cutting with the 8″ QUBE (or any qube set you want) but I only provide the rotary cutting directions for 10″ blocks (using the 8″ QUBE)
Start with blue to dark blue scraps (I thought I took a picture of this step but I guess I didn’t or the picture got erased)
With one Blue (A) cut out 8 of #2 squares (2 1/2″ squares)
With another Blue (B) cut out 8 of #5 triangles (2 7/8″ squares cut diagonally)
With another blue (C) cut out 1 of #2 square and 4 of #5 triangles
Then with the White background fabric, cut out 4 of #5 triangles and 4 of #8 rectangles (2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles)
Now onto the sewing!
Sew the 4 white triangles together with 4 of Blue B triangles
and sew the 4 Blue C triangles together with 4 of the Blue B triangles as well
Then sew the Blue A squares below the HSTs as shown, notice the Blue B is touching the Blue A squares.
Then sew them together like this
Then add the remaining Blue C square and 4 white rectangles
and Voila it’s done!
If you make this block you can tag me on IG @bealeequilter or you can email me a picture if you want to be included next month! or wait and send pictures when the whole thing is done 🙂
