coiled basket class at Capital Sew and Quilt

It’s time again for another class!

I’m teaching a class on how to make these coiled baskets

at Capital sew and quilt

On Sept 28th at 9.30am

What you need for the class:

Cotton cording  1/4″ thick

I like to buy a whole spool from Amazon

Wrights 183 9001-29A Cotton Piping, 50-Yard, 1/4-Inch, Natural

Then strips of scrap fabric about 1 1/4″ to 1 1/2″ wide, it really doesn’t matter.

What I like is to take my leftover binding strips and cut them in half so they are 1 1/4″

it’s easier to work with strips that are at least close to 40″

Of course your sewing machine and tools like scissors, pins, and NEW Needles for the machine just in case! You CAN bring your walking foot, but I found a regular foot works better.

AND bring fun threads or threads that either match your scraps or contrast!

– in my black and white basket I had a variegated thread that was black and white too and it looks great!
