Christmas in July with Island batik

This month’s theme is Christmas in July!

I started off with these yummy strips

I started making an ornament following the pattern here by ornament girl

Make your own quilted ornaments.

Here’s the finished result!

I also added the canvas “ribbon” as my hanging ribbon

Then I got another idea inspired by pics on ornament girl’s facebook page, somehow she started with a square piece of fabric, so I tried these deer from the Holiday happenings collection

I’ve made two other ornaments before, one in spring batiks from island batik and one in scrap fabrics in black and white and grey.

If you want to try this pattern, it’s quite addictive and these batiks make gorgeous ornaments!
