Chimney sweep runner and hexagon mug rug

In early May, I posted on social media for people to say a number between 1-94 as I have 94 dies (or sets) in my accuquilt app and people called out different numbers on FB and instagram.

Gene said #37 on FB (actually someone on instagram said that too) and on my list it was the multi-hexagon die, so I had to think about that a bit. I had just trimmed the D9P quilt and the backing was yellow so I had some yellow scraps on my table and also solid blue so I cut what I could with the medium die and matching triangle die

I quickly sewed them together

then trimmed and it ended up being about 6″ x 8″

I found a scrap of yellow and batting and laid the top right side down on the batik and the batting under that and sewed 1/4″ around leaving an opening at the bottom

Then I trimmed and turned right side out

I top stitched around the perimeter and then side to side on the hexagons

I forgot who said the next number and where but it was the chimney sweep die (I had actually used that recently on another quilt I haven’t shown yet)

since I have finished the top for the 50 states QAL I had a bit of red white and blue solids left so I cut those into 3 blocks

instead of the traditional two colored block I had the middle be white as a 3rd color

I sewed them together

and added a border

I quilted it with a stars and circles design

It measures 14″ x 34″

I have it listed in my etsy store here

94 dies???? Wow. I’m waiting for the arrival of the two companion sets for my 8 Qube, but shipping has been extremely slow.
