catching up on RSC pink blocks and massdrop

I got another shipment from massdrop!

These gorgeous fabrics are a cute FQ bundle by Radiant Girl

If you are curious about Massdrop, it’s not really like eBay for a sort of reverse bidding.

If you join and select “quilting” you’ll get emails about things that are listed that are quilting related.

So this email came in that it was a FQ bundle, it showed a list price then two other prices that are CHEAPER!

it’s all about the more the merrier!

You can commit to buy it at the first higher price or maybe commit at only the lowest price. If you commit at the higher price and the price drops because lots of people committed then you’ll get the bundle at that price. If you committed at only the lowest price and there’s not enough people to unlock the price, then you don’t get it, but I haven’t had that happen yet!!

Sometimes it’s free US shipping, sometimes it’s not, but then the list price is usually low.

This bundle was 30 FQs and I got them for $39.99 with free shipping!

If you join AND then buy something I get a free box eventually- so please join Smile -I’m just ONE away!!

In the meantime I’ve been catching up on RSC blocks- not just making pink blocks but if there were colors missing, I’ve cut into yardage to make them!

Here’s the pink flying geese blocks

I thought this block ended up hilarious!

Here’s the nine patch and snowball block sets, where I was missing green, aqua and pink

Then these 3” triangle in a square blocks

I laid them out on my design wall and realized I didn’t make any purple

so I quickly made those

I’m loving this layout!

here’s my EQ sketch, but now I’m thinking I might want to do it 6 x 8 instead of 6 x 7 so I’m going to wait until next month to finish the top.

I also finished more hunter star blocks

here’s the 7 so far

Also made more Ohio star blocks

I only had two blue and one brown made, so quite a lot to made!

Now I was trying to decided about the winding ways blocks- which were my least favorite blocks, I could toss them or give to my guild.

I had 5 blue and 1 brown made.

My “mistake” was that I should have stuck with just 2 colors for the blocks instead of 3 colors.

So I decided to play around with the 5 blue blocks and make a 9 block layout, so I picked some green to border each block- ran out for the 5th block then got the idea for just white and then the blue print for alternate plain blocks and had enough for an outer border with a skinny white border.

Now I think the quilt top looks pretty good! it’s 41 1/2” squared.

The lonely brown block I’ll bring my a guild meeting in the fall and see if they want it, otherwise I’ll toss it, not a big loss Smile

I sure couldn’t have done all these blocks without the GO cutter and all the dies, super duper easy and fast!

  1. Awesome, all your blocks. I had to laugh out loud when I saw that pink flying geese block.

The little girl is all grown up. That is a funny block. I love the triangle in a square blocks. I don't remember ever seeing that block before and really like how that looks when the four triangles are put together like that.

  3. The Joyful Quilter

I'm really looking forward to seeing how you set the 9-Patches and snowballs together. Knowing you, you've already got a plan drawn up!

  4. PaulaB quilts

You've done a lot of terrific work, also problem solving to use those five blocks for an entire quilt. Good going. Your rainbow blocks look so colorful. Keep up the good work!
