Bubblegum quilt

I finally finished the bubblegum daydream quilt! (took about 3yrs)

I quilted curves on the blocks of the main part of the quilt, the did my bubbles on the inner border ( I often do those)

Then a tight filler, sort of McTavishing (why is that named after her? I mean it’s just doodling) anyways, since the quilt is not super big this dense quilting didn’t take THAT long and I love how it makes the appliqué almost pop out.

I then hung it in Sonja’s room, since I won it when I was pregnant with her.

Glad to get this crossed off my list 🙂

Does anyone want to win the pattern?

I’ll give it away to one of my US followers, just comment below if you “really really” want it.

I don’t want to send it to someone who will just put it on the shelf and forget about it 🙂

It’s by Alex Andersen and comes in different sizes.

I’ll pick a winner next Thursday

  1. Your Bubblegum quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Would love to say I'd make one, but I know I wouldn't but thanks for the offer.

  2. Key Elements

How cute and your fabric selection fab! Looks very complicated – just up my alley.First time at your blog – enjoyed every minute. I am now a follower. Thanks,Jules

  3. Bea, I think this would be a wonderful project for a stitch group for a charity quilt. Thanks for sharing the pattern.

  4. Love the quilt and your detail as well. I have two tiny Great Granddaughters and three Great Nieces that would love this quilt and I would enjoy making it for them.Your site is awesome.

  5. It's really a bright and fun quilt. I love McTavishing. It's an easy way to get thru a quilt quickly and it always looks great!

  7. I LOVE that quilt! It is perfect for my granddaughter to tell you the truth this beautiful and fun cheerfulness is just what she needs because her life has been a bit rocky.

  8. I'm commenting to tell you how awesome that quilt is Bea! It may have taken a long time to finish, but remember it takes years for coal to become a diamond. I would love to tell you I'd love that pattern, and honestly, I would. BUT, I also know that it would be pushed back a long time before I'd even start it so if my name comes up as the winner, choose someone else please. I'll admit it wouldn't be done soon, but still wanted to tell you what an awesome job you did on that quilt. Your daughter probably loves all the bright colors in that quilt too. Lucky girl.

  9. I really, really love this quilt, and I would definitely make one. I love everything about it; the simple little traditional economy blocks, the whimsical bubble gum blocks, the combination of applique and piecing, the size, everything!sarah@forrussia.org
