I finished a bunch of the “Box of chocolate” blocks and now need a plan!
The blocks are made with the 4″ QUBE set and has a solid white center and the rest are all scrappy.
The center is die #1, the outside is die #2 and #8 (2 of each in each color)
When I cut out fabric pieces for a quilt, I leave the scraps next to my GO BIG cutter and when that pile gets too big, I grab the pile and cut those into blocks like this or put them in my scrap bins.
So here’s my ideas from EQ
Option #1 is to have friendship star blocks as alternate blocks which would take quite some planning.
option #2 is to add large squares as sashing but like a sort of nine patch, again this would take quite some planning.
option #3 would be to just add white sashing with either grey cornerstone blocks or scraps?
option #4 would be to make the blocks into star blocks where the 8 star tips are the same and the background is white.
option #5 is like option #4 but the background would be white prints- which I’ve tried before and it’s scary and can be quite ugly or cool, but it’s hard to judge but maybe the solid white center and the star tips will tie it all together?
What do you think?

I like #2 and #4, Bea!
I like Option #4 the best!
I like 3 best
neat, I’m just not sure, I can’t decide
Doesn’t it depend on what kind ok quilter you are ? 1, 2 &5 look chaotic., 4 is traditional (love it), 3 looks modern. ( lots of white).
ha ha! you’re no help….. that’s why I can’t decide, I don’t know what look I’m going for
I can’t stop looking at #4, so many secondary designs there, and I love it. It combines everything I like–scrappy, controlled, clean, and interesting!!! Oh, and colorful. What’s not to like? :o)
Love it that you have so many great ideas. Enjoy your posts & pics of quilts.
