Beauty and the beats–CT conclusion

I was SEW excited last week to make the final part of the CT Mystery Quilt along.

Here’s the final top all done!

I LOVE LOVE IT!! it’s the best mystery quilt I’ve made yet.

I think it’s also because I love all the colors in it.

And the clues in part 1 gave a lot of help in choosing fabrics.

I really love the star blocks and the star borders were just a BLAST to make! It’s a beauty Smile

I have the binding made in the same fabric as the inner border.

Now next is the BEAST!

I’ve shown the chain blocks I’ve made, I finally finished the border.

I’ve chatted with some of you and I know it’s a CONTRAST issue in this quilt. lesson learned…. usually I’m pretty good at that but not this time.

There are just so many FUNKY fabrics in here.

CRAZY!!

Well it’s done! at least the top is.

I think I’ll do a black binding, doing it scrappy would be TOO much.

  1. Cool mystery quilt. LOVE your scrappy quilt! After quilting, binding, a go in the washer and dryer, it will be a wonderful, fun cuddle quilt. You go girl.

  2. Love the CT mystery quilt-yes the colors are perfect! A simple block but it looks dyn-o-mite!!

  3. If you donate the Beast to charity, I bet it will be the one people fight over. When you say "quilt" to the general public, scrappy mish-mosh is what most people picture!

  4. Your mystery quilt turned out great! I think the border helped the quilt. There is a couple area that stand out. But it really isn't that bad. I have seen worse. I'll have to show you a picture of this quilt I got in a box of scraps from a neighbor. Now that is bad.
