Batik Christmas Table Runner

I was recently playing in EQ8 and thought about making a quick table runner for Christmas (Actually I designed this in November)

Of course I made it Accuquilt QUBE friendly 🙂

and my plan was to use scraps from Island Batik!

I used the 10″ QUBE set and the quilt finished at 15″ x 35″

Here’s what I cut out

RED 3– shape #1

Light Green 4– #2, 4–#4, 4–#16

Dark Green 16–#5, 4–#4

White – 12– of #2 , 6–#4, 8–#5, and then 4-3″ x 10.5″ rectangles

Of course I started sewing as much as possible at one time

The star blocks are fun because they have the green on one side

Soon enough the middle part was done

and borders added

I had it on the pile to be quilted for a while until I got my new long arm and then finally designed some pantographs and alternated ornaments and Christmas trees!

On the back I used a red dotted flannel I had ordered by mistake from Connecting threads

I gave this to a friend before Christmas

I also wanted to say that I’m NOT going to be an ambassador for Island Batik in 2020!

Some of you already know what company I’ll work with, but I’ll keep it secret for now 🙂

  1. Those flannels also work well as the batting for a table runner. I have used them for that when I realized I didn’t like piecing flannel.
