You know I couldn’t stay away from sewing for long!
I even brought a bag to the hospital, but didn’t get to do anything there. (of course! what was I thinking?)
Mostly I sewed the mystahhhhry Ahhhh project that Tonya has going on here
Kind of hard with a baby on my chest.
Mostly I had her next to me all bundled up!
I did finish all 12 sets of “grandpas socks” with added triangles on the bottom
Next I’ll sew them together and then add to the middle star.
On Black Friday, we don’t go shopping, except maybe online shopping- I DID place an order with connecting threads on Thursday! Otherwise our tradition is to decorate for Christmas. So the kids did that.
Also on Black Friday, Bonnie hunter release clue #1 for her mystery QAL. I knew i wouldn’t want to do a BIG quilt, to maybe just do 1/3 or 1/4 of the blocks, Then when I started to pick fabrics, I decided to use yardage AND to do a girl quilt, then found these Hello Kitty fabrics and tried different combinations, ended up going with #3
So if I do 1/4 of the blocks. I needed less than 1yd of all of them except the neutral (white)
Here’s my choices:
Gold = Red dot
Red = HK red
Black = Black (I wasn’t sure about black for a baby, but it GOES with the colors, so I’m sticking to it!)
Grey = HK pink
Neutral = White
I made about 60 or so mini HST blocks, they are so cute and tiny!
and speaking of cute and tiny! I figured you might want to see more pics of Anja 🙂
I wanted to show the women of the bible block for Jael (her middle name)
and look what I found! my mom had sent these for Bjorn when he was born, but he was an August baby in S. Florida, so he never wore them. They are real seal skin from Greenland, as my mom had a friend in DK who went to Greenland to be a teacher for a year, so she brought them back.
(don’t be a hater about it being seal skin)
They do fit!
did you go black Friday shopping online?
The best part of this post are the photos of Anja. She's adorable! In these photos she looks so mature looking, for a two week old.I've been reading about everyone doing Bonnie's mystery and am very tempted! To make something smaller, though, like you mentioned.
