It’s time for Art with fabric blog hop again.
The “theme” for this time is Women in art.
That got me thinking about looking up Danish artists, which lead to my favorite painter P.S. Krøyer and he was male painter who lived near the northern tip of Denmark,-skagen
Peder Severin Krøyer (23 July 1851 – 21 November 1909), known as P. S. Krøyer, was a Danish painter. He is one of the best known and beloved, and the most colorful of the Skagen Painters, a community of Danish and Nordic artists who lived, gathered or worked in Skagen, Denmark, especially during the final decades of the 19th century. Krøyer was the unofficial leader of the group.
Now Kroyer’s WIFE Marie was also a painter but not well known and mostly she was often the subject in his now famous paintings!
This one below is called
Summer Evening at Skagen. The Artist’s Wife and Dog by the Shore, 1892
copies of this and a series he painted up in Skagen is still hot sellers in Denmark.
The last time or the time before I was there I bought a set of cross stitch designs by Kroyer.
And I have this one hanging right above my ironing board
You can read about Marie here on wikipedia
check out the other participants in the blog hop and thanks to Alida for hosting it again!

Wow it's interesting and very pretty x
That is such a cool project! I have tried to work on cross stitch for so many years: I pick it up, start long term amazing projects and then I get bored and abandon them. I guess that having an inspiring (and not too big) project like yours could really motivate me to get things to completion! Thanks for inspiring and for sharing your talent with all of us!!
Hi Bea, that's a great project. I really like the painting by kroyer and it translated well in the cross stich.
Lovely project! Haven't done cross stitch in years!
