I don’t think we have gotten much rain yet in April in NC, it’s more like SUMMER weather!
we’re planning our vegetable garden and the bugs and bees are out- and soon the cicadas are coming too- a historic year where two broods will emerge at the same time. Some cicadas emerge every 13 years and some every 17 years, I remember the last one in NC when we had just moved to the country- at least I remember picking up my older kids at the elementary school and the cicadas were SO loud! now it’ both kinds! the last time both emerged together was in 1803! Part of some maps say we’ll get both in our area of NC, if not, then at least the 13yr one, which makes sense, Bjorn would have been 8 and Solveig 5 so maybe they were both in elementary school then.
Anyways, enough of that, for the April showers theme, I had this cute cloud fabric from Riley Blake!
Ok, so it’s not rain clouds, but night time clouds, oh well….. I just really liked it
It’s a fabric that will be part of my FQ club, right now it’s Baby Girl themed, then starting in July it’s Baby Boy themed and this fabric is part of the bundle.
In EQ I sketched out my idea and then cut everything using my QUBE set
Here’s the finished quilt, it measures 45″ x 57″
I quilted it using a star and meander design in white thread
Since the quilt was bigger than a WOF, I added a stripe to the backing and used leftover matching fabric for the stripe.
I’ll probably turn this into a pattern soon, it just takes a while and then I give my testers a month to make a sample too- if you want to be added to my “testers” group, let me know!
Thanks to Joan for hosting this AGAIN!! I always love joining the hops!!

Very pretty quilt. The back is as pretty as the front. I love pieced backs.
Your fabric choices are perfect and the quilt design is wonderful. Perfect gift to be loved for years.
What a cute little quilt. Perfect for a baby gift!
Cute quilt! I especially like the animal fabric you used. Thanks for sharing it!
Adorable quilt and fabric. Thanks so much for sharing!
Lovely quilt, the fabrics are perfect!
This is a perfect baby gift with your choice of fabrics…love it! I’m not looking forward to the cicadas coming out. They are loud and annoying! Thanks for sharing, Bea!
I love this quilt, Bea, and I am sure it will be a great pattern. Good luck with the bugs…not a fan but cicadas seem mostly harmless.
I love your quilt. I am looking for testers as well.
Love the quilt!! It’s great! And the fact that it was cut out with Qube dies- all the better! I expect to see a pattern written soon!
You always have such cute quilts and this is right up there.
Great quilt! Love how you quilted it and love how you used the qube! xx
Thanks for sharing your sweet quilt!
Very pretty quilt, Bea!! Thanks for sharing
thanks it was fun to make
Cute quilt, perfect fabric choices.
That is really pretty. A great way to celebrate the season by using cloud fabric. My quilt uses similar colors.
