April Island Batik Ambassador Challenge – GO BABY QUILT

This month’s challenge is to use our Accuquilt GO machine and 8″ QUBE set, well at least that’s what they sent the new ambassadors, so I figured I’d use mine too!

I was playing in my EQ file named Accuquilt QUBE ( I have over 150 designs in that file!) and I came up with this!

Do you recognize it? How about now?

I made this quilt in 2016 in boy colors

This time I was thinking about using leftover scraps of the feline fine fabrics I got with my ambassador box in 2018, it’s such a cute fabric line!

Once I decided on just using the green and purple fabrics, I had to sneak some purple for another batik line, I think from box #1 from 2018, it had birds on it, but hey, cats and birds kind of go together, right? I also added another darker green scrap I had in my Island Batik bin, but the rest were Feline Fine 🙂

I cut out the pieces I needed

and sorted in my bin

Then sewed the HSTs together

and more of the block sections

now the blocks started to look like real blocks!

here’s the two opposite blocks

then I sewed it into a top

and then added the inner and outer border

I believe the quilt is 40×48

I quilted with a pointy swirl all over

I used leftover green and purple for the back

Open live writer and blogger/google photos are still not talking to each other, so these photos are not edited 🙁

  1. That quilt shows just how fun and versatile the Go cutter is. I love the purple and green combo you chose for the fabrics in this. I often use those colors together in my quilting.

  2. Purple and green are definitely my favorite colors. Great job on the design.

  3. Thats a lovely quilt and I love seeing the difference that alternate color ways make.
