Another fun scrap project I’ve been working on is “This little piggy”
My pattern uses the 8″ QUBE set but I figured I’d use the 6″ set and then all scraps and again my print print bin is always overflowing and then I picked the other colors too because they were overflowing or pretty full bins as well, I think the light green and dark blue were, light brown maybe not so much but then I also calculate how much yardage I need for the border and if I have one of those colors in my short yardage pile then it tells me what spot to use it in the quilt, like here I had a bit of the light green so that went as the inner border so I couldn’t use the light green as the background color, the outer border is a orange sort of tan color and I had plenty of it for binding as well, it’s a fun way to plan and then again be surprised by the end result.
The quilt ended up measuring 45″ x 53″
here you can compare it to the pattern
a lot of the white print fabrics were sort of directional so I tried to have them all face the right way or even the light green turtle and hedgehogs!
I used this green print for the backing
As with most of my Accuquilt friendly patterns, you can take the pattern and easily up- or down-size the qube set and get a bigger or smaller quilt!
In this pattern it uses the 8″ QUBE set to make 10″ blocks, since I used the 6″ QUBE set, the blocks ended up 7.5″ Finished.
Another winner, Bea! Love the scrappy version as well as the original, very versatile pattern. Love it!
This scrap quilt was thought out very well. The finished quilt looks great! You did a fabulous job at putting it all together and interpreting the original pattern to fit your scraps. Happy stitching! -Andrea
thanks, it was a fun one to make!
