I wanted to try a different scrappy version of “Sweet dreams”
as always when I work on scrappy quilts I write down which bins are overflowing with scrap fabrics and pick a few that go together well and with sweet dreams I also had to add a solid and I chose a peach, I wanted to use grey and found that I had a bunch of the same fabric in large scraps so I designated those as their own “color”, the same with white prints.
I used the 6″ QUBE set which makes it SO easy when cutting scraps!!! but of course rotary cutting directions are included in the pattern as well.
Here’s what I used instead of the pattern suggestions
A Peach – Peach
B Pink- white and peach print
C Light Purple- grey print
D Beige- White and Grey Print- minus a few spots
E burgundy- Solid Grey scraps- they DO vary slightly but very little
The quilt is 36″ x 36″ and I think it turned out adorable!
as you can see with the diamond border I didn’t use the same white and grey print for the diamonds, I ran out so I figured I’d cut 8 in white instead and put those in the center.
I quilted hearts all over it.
I didn’t have a peach for the backing but used this tan print instead.
You can get the pattern here.
