I have another Accuquilt Blog project to show you, in case you haven’t seen it on Accuquilt’s blog.
I used the Chinese Lantern die
and the 8″ QUBE set to make it, then strip dies for the sashing and binding.
and solid fabrics
- 1 1/4 yards of dark blue fabric (that includes binding)
- 3/4 yards of turquoise fabric
- 1/4 yard of light blue fabric
- 1/3 yard of white fabric
-see the blog post for exact cutting directions 🙂
I love how these shapes have the dog ears cut off so they are super easy to sew together!
(The tricky part for me was that I used solid fabrics so I had to remember which pieces went where)
Then with the 8″ QUBE set I made 2 different diamond blocks (4 +1)
I quilted a pretty dense design all over it which I think is GREAT for a baby quilt!
The quilt finished 32″ x 32″
I also played around in EQ8 with the Chinese Lantern die and the 8″ Mill and Star die
Both of these dies make blocks that would be HARD to rotary cut!
Have you tried the Chinese lantern die or block maybe even foundation pieced?
