Did you see the newest Prairie star die Accuquilt released?
I designed a quilt pattern for them too and used solids from Connecting Threads.
(Sorry my bee got added, these are Accuquilt’s photos)
The die made it so easy to put together and I had fun making this swirly design! It’s the same block, just turned 90 degrees on the quilt.
Here’s my pictures- first the pile of solids from Connecting threads
Then I cut out all the pieces and layered the shapes in piles of 4 in this star flower shape and with an ombre effect
Then I kept adding pieces following the same color order
Then once the “wedges” were done I added the background pieces, it IS Y seams, but not hard, I’d grab a white piece and a “wedge” and only sew one seam, then press and lay it out again then add more seams, it was kind of like a puzzle I guess.
here’s the top all done
I think the quilting design is called Hot Cocoa
The pattern for this quilt is called “Aloha stars” and it’s on Accuquilt’s website
I got to play MORE with the die and also made this pillow for Accuquilt, called Cascading Star, here the fabrics got provided by Riley Blake!
For the star I made it more of the “traditional” way of making the star with 3 colors and they are all the same and then a small border and 2 1/2″ squares to make the pillow 20″, I quilted a basic wavy design allover it.
Again get the die here and check out the patterns to go with it.
Here’s a clue for Dec 8th
“It’s the name for those Asian/Japanese little lunch boxes”
It’s a baby quilt pattern
Go to the quilt pattern page
and you can then “search” for the clues
