Accuquilt GO! Challenge – funky flowers

accuquilt challenge 2015

With this month’s challenge I used the FUNKY FLOWER die

A die I’ve had for a long time (I think it was one of the first ones I ever bought)

Then I found a sewing pattern Simplicity 4927

Simplicity It's So Easy girl's dress 4927

I cut out the pattern pieces roughly and ironed on low heat, then used Swedish tracing paper

And traced the size and pieces I needed

Sonja wanted a green dress and picked out this funky fabric with my help 😉

Then I decided to make white pockets with orange funky flowers and added heat n bond to the back of the fabrics and ran thru my go BIG cutter, easy peasy!

I then ironed the pieces onto the pockets and accounted for the seam allowance

and then button hole stitched around in matching thread colors

and I sewed the dress together 🙂

-those small sleeves were HARD since they were so small, too small to even go around the base after I removed the outer part of the base of the sewing machine.

and here’s my little model trying it on! ready for spring…..
