Accuquilt challenge – Bowtie die

accuquilt challenge 2015

It’s the 15th again and I was trying to go thru my dies and see which ones I had NOT shown, but I just couldn’t help but use the bowtie die again

It’s here on the accuquilt website and actually on sale

GO! Bowties-4" Finished by Alex Anderson (55413)

I decided I wanted it all scrappy but have white/beiges in the background and ANY color as the bowties.

So I started cutting out sets and sorting into piles of 10 sets

Then I sewed the bowties together while trying to “match” the neutrals with the bowtie fabrics, as some backgrounds weren’t all white, I also had any stripes go vertically and any directional fabrics be upright as well.

and then sewed them together into a 15 x 18 layout.

I love that some are high contrast and some are low.

The quilt measures 60 x 72 and I don’t think I’ll add a border to it, just quilt it like this and add binding (not sure what color yet)

Here’s the first bowtie quilt I made last year
