I cut out these pieces in July and actually finished the top soon after that but then had to wait for a nice packing fabric for it before I could quilt it
I had this cute pink on white ducky fabric leftover from my Michael Miller fabric project called baby stars earlier in the year
I cut out 3 1/2″ squares and was able to cut out 12 of them, then I got out my pink scrap bin and the log cabin die from Accuquilt and cut out a bunch of logs
I didn’t worry about dark or light pink placement but I did do half and half where I started on the top or on the bottom of the 3 1/2″ square and then added clockwise around until the blocks were 11 1/2″ (normally the die cuts up to 12 1/2″ but I chose to do it this way so I’d have 4 logs on each side of the 3 1/2″ square)
I then sewed the top together like this, it measured 33 1/2″ x 44 1/2″
I then long arm quilted it with a “scrolling vine” design
Here’s the back, I also used it for the binding
A cute little baby quilt to donate or giveaway 🙂
Timely post since we were just discussing that die!
Such a sweet little quilt. I love that you didn’t worry about light and dark.
