This weekend Solveig and I went to a quilt market/show whatever it’s called in a town near us (sorry about the blurry picture) it was lots of vendors and pretty quilts to look at, but then almost every vendor had notes about not taking pictures unless you were buying the pattern…. and really it just had a different vibe this year, I wasn’t feeling it, I didn’t buy anything, but Solveig bought a gem pendant and necklace chain to go with it and we left probably after 1.5hrs It was still good to have some mother daughter time 🙂
Meanwhile I’ve been working on some different projects, some secret, some are just old UFOs

Did you know this about seam rippers btw?
For years I probably ripped out seams the wrong way until I saw a video a year or two ago, you see that little red ball on the bottom of the ripper?
if you have that under the seam and have the ball touch the fabric, then you can gently push the handle and pretty much slide sideways to the left and it rips it out in one long swoop, until it gets stuck on a bunch of threads bunching up in it, then I pull it out and start again and it’s really quick! Now you do have to be careful that you don’t rip the fabric, the angle has to be just right, but once you get it right, it works like a charm!
a scrappy project I started and I’ve shown on instagram is this scrappy yellow and grey chimney sweep quilt, the blocks are just FUN!
Â
and my leader and ender project has been this green and purple and white kite block, someone on FB showed a scrappy version recently and I decided to go with these colors and cut out a bunch.
one secret project I’m working on uses this cute floral print
Then when I cut this really small, I just laughed at these “ahem” flowers…… LOL
I found out awhile back that I was using the seam ripper in the wrong way also. It really does make a difference when you use it correctly.
