A little log cabin table runner finish

Last week I finished this cute little chicken log cabin table runner with the LAST of the chicken fabric from the Spring FQ bundle!

I didn’t notice until now that the red centers are not lines up on these because the middle block is flipped.

The quilt measures 20″ x 44″

Did you know

In 1863, Log Cabin quilts become very popular to help raise funds for the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was thought to be in honor of Abraham Lincoln, who grew up in a log cabin. Quilts continued to become very popular as our nation was nearing the year of its centennial in 1876.

Log Cabin blocks usually start with a square. Strips are added around the square, often with two sides being of lighter fabrics and the other two sides of darker prints. A red center square was thought to symbolize the hearth of the home, and a yellow center was believed to represent light shining through the window.

A little history lesson for you 🙂

I quilted baptist fans all over it in white

If you like log cabin quilts (they are one of my favorites!!) I have 3 patterns in my shop!
