A year ago I made a fall quilt for a quilt magazine (and YES I’m working on THAT pattern!!)
Because it was a FQ friendly pattern, I got a big bundle of MODA (I think) FQs and I had quite a lot leftover so I figured in Feb. that I’d use them and picked my Nighttime by the river pattern and used my QUBE sets to make it.
I used 20 FQs so it finished 48″ x 60″
It’s really a fun pattern where you shuffle the fabrics around after cutting, though there’s a little bit of planning.
I used a solid hunter green fabric as the binding
For the backing I used the brown chicken wire fabric from my Spring FQ collection (It’s really the only brown I have on hand)
The long arm design is called “Rebekah’s rose” and I quilted in a pale brown thread color
I can’t create kits out this (yet) but you can get the pattern for $8 until Friday!
Very cute, the stripes add a lot!
Mine is finished now, minus the quilting!! I put two big borders on it. I love this pattern! Everyone should try it!!!!!
It’s a gorgeous quilt. I love the fabric.
I love stars, and that’s definitely starry! Great set of FQs, and the green binding is perfect. I’m working on two other star patterns right now, but when they’re finished this could be next! And in June, I’ll be ready for a new QAL, too. The states one would be good, but so would any of your others.
I made this pattern when you introduced it a few years ago. My grandson was going off to college and I made it for him in blues and browns. If I remember correctly, this is the pattern where you stack your cut fabrics and then pull one from the bottom of each pile and so every block is different. So much fun…
