a fun block and a pincushion

I applied to be an Island Batik ambassador again for 2018!

part of the application you have to make a 12” block (12 1/2”)- I totally missed that if it wasn’t for the group on FB!

I came up with a block in EQ using the new QUBE angles set and regular QUBE set and of course I wanted to make it out of batiks!

So I found this 5” roll from my previous box

and I picked 3 fabrics

and I had my note with piece #s and colors and I cut them all out

Then sewed the block sections together

and then made the quarter blocks (6 1/2”)

and then the whole block!

what a fun block!!

I’ve also made a small FPP pincushion for my swap partner

I was given this mini kit and finally decided to make something with it! the kit showed 2 Christmas blocks that finish 3”

I decided to just make one and these pieces are TINY!!

Then I added a small border

and turned it into a pincushion

Hope my swap partner likes it!

Your block reminds me of a pattern I designed last year. Great minds do think alike.

Cute pincushion. That block would be great, super sized, as a full sized quilt.
