I didn’t get to show you yet what I worked on while we drove to the beach last week (and back) I brought along this gnome EPP project I had started last year after Christmas when I was an ambassador for MMF, and since it was after Christmas I wasn’t in a hurry to finish it up, so I just work on this when I feel like or we’re going on long car rides.
Then I was bored and tidying up my studio, I now have a project bin for machine embroidery projects too! One of the items I make often is an owl stuffie/pincushion and I have lots of square pieces of fabrics left over from making masks and each mask required 2 pieces of the same fabric which the owls do too, so I had Sonja and Anja pick a favorite and they picked thread colors too! Anja was REALLY excited about hers! I think she has 2 or 3 of them already but what difference does ONE more make?
Sonja’s favorite color nowadays is black and Anja’s is pink, it’s fun that they are both really black and really pink, nothing about contrast in colors! but that’s ok….
(The black one was a black batik with cat paws and cat things on it, so I’m sure that was a big draw for Sonja too!)
I really need to machine embroider more, the machine just sits there often and does nothing! My “problem” is that it needs baby sitting! unlike the long arm, it can go for 20min or however long and I don’t have to watch it that much, maybe I just need to find the right “files”, well the owls take about 25 min to stitch, so maybe that’s not too bad.
I now also have a bin for the eyeglass holders I make and sell at craft shows, but what’s the point if there’s no craft shows anymore? Maybe our town will have it in the fall again, we’ll see. I’ll believe it when I see it!
I also haven’t been making stuffed animals in a while, those are great at using up my “under 1/2yd” scraps! I really should make more of those, but again, why? if there’s no craft shows…. I do make quilts because I just LOVE it, so maybe I just need to get back into it!!??
I always enjoy your Owl pin cushions. They are so cute!
