Christmas is over and we had a great time at home opening presents and later my in-laws came over for a ham dinner!
Here’s a few Christmas presents I made and I can show.
For Sonja I made a Beanie Boo holder
(yeah they are kind of being hanged but that’s the only way I thought I could do it and have them exposed instead of pockets)
And then I gave Dan the black and white version of my Genesis 9:16 quilt pattern.
For Sonja’s Beanie Boo holder, I did a little video too!
Here’s the design I used
Then I borrowed a large and regular sized beanie boo and measured the height and width and placed long ribbons that distance apart and the bottom row is for the bigger ones. The holder fits perfectly at the end of the girls’ bunk bed and I added large hanging ties to hang on the end and a hanging sleeve on the back so there’s actually a skinny rod inside to hold it stiff
Sonja loves it, Solveig got a bit offended and commented that they are “hanged” well we could tie around their bellies instead….
My husband’s quilt is a modern black and white (and grey and beige) version of my popular Genesis 9:16 pattern
(There’s still a sale going on with my patterns: 3 patterns for $21, use coupon code 21yranniv)
I used a panto on the Quilter’s creative touch that I thought was very “manly” and wouldn’t take away from the pattern. I forgot the name but it was an overlapping grid work design.
with my new system I use these blue Grace large snap clips to float the top, it works well!
Here’s the whole quilt! 66″ x 78″
more closeup of the quilting.
at some point of this quilt, the tablet ran out of battery, actually it was really low, so I had to unplug and charge it and I thought I had saved it, but when I started again, the design wasn’t saved, so I had to go in and measure the height and width of what was already quilted and change that on the design, because the program lets you stretch and squash any design and repeat how ever many times you want to fit your design. I think I got it right and with such a busy quilt, it didn’t matter much anyways.
I had one BIG present under the tree too (though my new long arm was my present so I didn’t expect anything under the tree)
You’ll have to wait until 2020 to see what this box is all about!!
