A different Beach Bum

I felt like trying a different version of my pattern “Beach Bum”

I picked burgundy and reds and then this hunter green and the light version of that is beige, so it’s kind of a tricky thing, but anyways, as often happens when I combine reds and greens it looks like a Christmas quilt!

here’s a close up of some of them, as you can see there’s quite a variance!

And a month or two ago I got fabrics from Creative Goat for CHEAP! so I got either 3yds or 4 to use as backings, here I used a brown bold fabric.

The quilt is 51″ x 59″ and of course I used Accuquilt dies to cut everything out, it’s a nice “leader and ender project”.

I might donate it or save it for our Church’s Christmas door prize thing, we’ll see. Our church is actually doing a raffle with some of my quilts to raise money for a homeless ministry in Raleigh, giving people food and clothes and toiletries- what they most often need is socks and underwear and feminine “stuff”… You never really think about that, do you? There were a few homeless guys who’d come to our church once in a while before Covid, back then we had food to nibble on after service and our church would make sure those guys had stuff to bring back too! This one guy Peter is a former Math professor! (I can also guess as to what happened in his life!?) a very smart and nice guy, I remember he encouraged Bjorn years ago to re-take Calculus 1 at the community college in 11th grade as he only got a D, and Bjorn did and got an A, did fine in Calc 2 and now his Major in college is Math and Business!
