8 year blogger-versary

It was my 8 year blogger-versary on the 29th, but I had important blog posts to show, so I’m celebrating a little late.

I’m honestly not in the celebration mood either, as my mom’s husband Egon died last Saturday night the 27th. a week and a half after I was just there! The week after I left, Egon got admitted to hospice and my mom got admitted to the hospital for surgery too, I knew about my mom’s surgery as we spoke on the phone on my birthday (the 20th) so mid week I called their house and got no answer- I knew Egon was waiting on hospice too, but I got the nurses # when I was there, so I called them and they either told me or emailed me what was going on, so I was calling both hospice and the hospital to check on them every day and hospice said he was really bad and delirious and they were trying to manage his pain and have him sleep and that he probably wouldn’t survive the weekend!

Saturday morning a friend messaged me on FB that she was actually in their area and wanted to offer to go to the hospital and get my mom and drive her to hospice to see Egon one last time Sunday morning, so after emails and phone calls we got it all settled and then 30 min later I found out he had just died! my friend still offered to take my mom on Sunday if she wanted to see him, but Sunday morning my mom just couldn’t do it.

So I’m writing this blog post ahead of time as I’m waiting on final details about the funeral and I’ll then book a ticket and go back again!

I feel so bad for my mom, she’s frail and can’t do much, doesn’t do finances, doesn’t clean, nor cook much and I’m the only family she has!

Egon was a great guy for her! he was nice and so FUNNY!- it was heartbreaking to see them both 2 weeks ago!

When they got married in 2001, Dan actually walked my mom down the church aisle, and during that trip to Denmark we went to a local amusement park and Egon and I LOVE roller coasters, Dan doesn’t!! but we tricked him onto this one, saying it didn’t look that bad Winking smile we each got this key ring and it’s just great to remember the fun times!

So sorry about Egon, both for you and your mother. Lots of hard questions to be asked now, unfortunately. Good luck. I just celebrated 7 years of blogging, earlier this month, but, totally forgot about it (as I tend to do).

This is a great place organize an event; they have great staff and great events put on here! I had nothing but great times and great conversations at venues in San Francisco. They served slider and shrimp cakes as appetizers with chicken skewers, and eggrolls that had veggies on the inside and some kind of creamy fruit sauce on top.
