We ended up having a birthday WEEKEND for Solveig!
Of course we made Danish Layer Cake and we actually made another one because her sculpture teacher at Meredith has the same birthday, so Solveig wanted to bring her a cake too and share with the class, then she also brought a quilt for her and said her teacher REALLY appreciated it because she knows how much work goes into it!
The craft show I’m going to is next weekend so this week I made some pot holder trivet things, they are like the coiled baskets but just flat, I forgot how fun they are to make!
Monday I got a call about my closest friend Laura having brain surgery for an Aneurysm, long story…. But it’s been a tough week but good progress, she’s in Wisconsin, we used to be almost neighbors and her husband and kids attended our church for a while, we were really close friends, she was my sewing buddy too, they have 3 kids now, 9 years and below, two years ago they moved to Arkansas then a few months ago to Wisconsin. I really wish I was closer so I could help out, maybe I still will when she’s out of the hospital, which sounds like could be at least 3 weeks, each day is better but I know anything can happen. It’s really amazing what Doctors can do! I keep texting and talking to her husband several times a day to get updates and PRAYING for them!
