Last weekend we went to the beach for a few days to get some vitamin SEA and some nice rest and relaxation!
The weather was nice, in the afternoon we were actually able to go into the water, we didn’t expect that in October and hadn’t packed swimsuits, but Dan, Bjorn and I went in for a bit in our shorts and T-shirts.
The feeling of bare sand in between your toes felt SO nice!
Sunday morning Dan and I went to watch the sunrise on the beach, it was lovely!
This whole back we’ve tried to get back to normal and also dealing with all the legal stuff and banking things.
There’s certain things we jokingly say we have PTSD from, like leaving the phone close by when we go to bed in case we get “the call”… we don’t have to do that anymore. I took our CNAs name off of my “favorites” on my phone because any favorites can override by “sleeping” setting or anything else, then I found I still had grandma’s number as a favorite too, so I removed that.
Dan picked up his dad’s ashes after the trip and they are both in two canvas bags and I put them close together in a corner for now (they have certificates in the bag so we don’t confuse them) but Dan jokingly said he her grandma say “get him away from me, or go away”
It’s stuff like that, that sometimes pop into our heads and we have to laugh, because otherwise how can we cope with it, it’s been so hard.
