Thanks everyone for the well wishes for Chewy, she’s much better now!
Last Friday we did a field trip with another homeschool family to the home of the Morehead family- he was Governor and lots of history about his family and sciences and also slaves….. we met at the house and it was only our two families and the paid tour was over 1.5hrs and very personal, it was great!
The house was added on to several times and with different time periods, I took plenty of pictures but will just show the quilty related ones 🙂
One room had 2 beds with two chimney sweep quilts on them and the guide didn’t know the name of the blocks, but I know nothing about the history of the chimney sweep block, do any of you?
Then another room had this quilt and the design looked kinda familiar!!
It’s like my pattern You’re so fine!
And there was a really old sewing machine in a room too, several of the items they admitted were not original to the house but matched the time period, but it still worked well and things seemed to belong 🙂
After the museum/house we went to a Krispy Kreme Donut shop because Sonja is doing a report on NC and she found out or knew that Krispy Kreme Donuts were invented here and we don’t have a shop near us at all, and our luck, it had a conveyor belt and it was ON when we got there!!
