2023 quilt project list week 31

Hubby has been busy with our kitchen this week and last weekend and made lots of progress! The main thing was installing the kitchen sink, it had to be done quickly, by first removing the counters and the sink (so no water!)

 

one man + a sledge hammer + a few hours = empty kitchen!

then it was time to install the plumbing and the cabinet for the new sink

and put in the new farm sink- which is AWESOME!!

I think we were only without a kitchen sink for a day and a half or something like that, it was quick!

this is what the kitchen looks like from our living room (dining area)

then hubby hooked up the dish washer to the right of the sink (and ran the water line and electrical etc) we also put an old cabinet in the middle of the kitchen as we’re planning on a big butcher block island there, but we’re not sure if we should order one already made or just the top and hubby make it?!

Now that we have the sink UNDER the window, we realized the window is too high! so now we’re thinking of ordering a BIG window that will start counter height!

and the new stove needs to be hooked up and hood covered, plus new counter tops, but there’s an order to how things need to be done

hubby spent 2 days fixing the floor where the old cabinets were, because the floor A/C ran up under the old sink and electrical holes, the A/C hole was huge and boards missing but he had SOME extra boards but things settle over time and it’s been a pain, but the floor is all whole now, just needs to be sanded and stained or polyurethaned.

plus now I’m looking at this BARE WALL on the right of the picture frame shelves (pretty much next to our eating area) and I think that area would be a COOL coffee station/bar!!!

On my end, I got a new fabric shipment, I’ll show more about next week!

Solveig has been busy making button pins for the Emporium, the big ones are all fabric scraps, the small ones are copies of artwork she’s made then color copies of those.

We dropped them off at the Emporium and I took a picture of the eyeglass cases I have on sale there, I need to make more!!

and Solveig’s furby and some of my stuffed owls are still there.

Plus “Faye” sent me this picture of a Maddie KIT she bought at Connecting threads where she enlarged it a bit on the sides, it looks really great and love the quilting!
