Another busy week with not much sewing!
Solveig got a new BED (though it’s smaller) as sort of a graduation gift
We don’t have much left for homeschooling so books and projects are getting finished up, here’s one of my favorite things for American History 2 (we also did #1 last year)- though Sonja doesn’t care much about it, but appreciates it at the end of the year; a LAP BOOK!
It’s a big KIT I bought thru Sonlight and part of the “optional” section in the curriculum, then each week she does a step that maybe includes cutting out stuff, adding flaps, coloring, writing etc then glues it into this lap book.
Solveig’s HIGH SCHOOL graduation was Tuesday this week, because she did early college, the college graduation was 2 weeks ago, then there was also an academic honors ceremony because she was the top 10% in the county! then this highschool one (with only 10 or 11 of them out of 30!) Enough ceremonies!! Of course we’re very proud of her!
Wednesday we had to take my in-laws to the bank, and just going into town with 2 of them was quite an ordeal, it’s sad, grandpa can hardly walk, we had a walker which he used, but then he also has dementia so kept asking what we were doing there or if we were getting money out then tried to walk out when we were done saying the walker wasn’t his, plus then grandma dropped her flip phone in the banker’s office and we didn’t know until an hour later, so I had to drive back to the bank, get the phone and drop it off.
Meanwhile I’m dealing with my mom’s situation in Denmark, she’s at a nursing home in a temporary spot and they are applying for a permanent spot, she seems in better spirits and is eating better and she’s being watched, so it’s a good thing she’s there.
Thursday Bjorn has off from the bank because he had to cover for someone TODAY, so we went to the Zoo!
The Asheboro zoo is HUGE and has one of the largest natural habitats for the animals, so it’s a lot of walking but most of the animals seem content, except for one or two animals who are in a small enclosure.

That book is such a great project, and it will make many things more meaningful for her. I love seeing Solveig’s room with the quilts and stuffies. I want a 3/4 bed – but it’s harder to find linens for that size. It’s just right for one with a little spreading, and leaves more empty space than the queen or double. Maybe I’ll get it one of these days. Your quilting is as wonderful as ever. I enjoyed the post/newsletter you sent with everything in red/white/blue. Every pattern looks good in those colors!
