It’s graduation week!
Solveig graduated with her associates of science at Central Carolina Community College and a few weeks ago at some information night they encouraged students to decorate the mortar board, Solveig painted hers!
Then the DAY before graduation the Highschool principal emailed students about the Highschool graduation in 2 weeks (yeah they get their A.S degree before the Highschool diploma, but it’s really just the ceremony, they don’t get the diplomas and transcripts until later, anyways their new principal emailed about returning laptops and graduation attire and in big BOLD LETTERS it read that they should NOT decorate their mortar boards because it’s a serious occasion! well a BIT too late!! and yeah it’s serious too but it’s a celebration! Good grief!!
Solveig got all sorts of honors for high GPA! (cords and stole)
We’re all very proud of her!! out of 30 in her class, I think only 8 of them were at the graduation! One kid moved, others still have a semester or two left and I don’t know about the rest maybe they just didn’t FEEL LIKE going??
I have been sewing/quilting/writing patterns etc. But ever since I started buying bolts wholesale, my own stash has almost disappeared, I never had a big stash, but all my fabrics fit on 2 shelves, the bottom left was 0-1/2yd, the right bottom was 1/2-1yd, then top shelf on the left was 1-2yds and the right was 2yards or more, as you can see, I have ONE fabric that’s about 2yds, or maybe it’s 3yds and then a few scraps below under 1yd.
Now we put an empty Amazon box on the empty top left side for Swiffer to lay in so he doesn’t get fur all over the fabric 🙂
Here’s my 2023 Quilt list

Thank you so much for sharing your family occasion! Those are beautiful pictures. I love the one of you all together, the one of her beautiful mortar board, and the sassy one over her shoulder the best, but there’s not a one that isn’t a terrific memory. Congratulations to Solveig and to you, Mom and Dad, for getting her so far in life, so young.
Congratulations. May your future be as bright as your beautiful smile.
