Last weekend we went to the lake with friends and their kids on their boat, it was a beautiful day! Usually Dan just goes as it was just the husband and kids, but I had never been and it was fun! they had this foamy mat which got rolled out and the kids and (us) had a blast playing on it, Dan played a monster trying to get the kids and pull them off the mat and they would squeal in delight!

Our “science” corn is coming in, it’s funny how some of the hairs are purple/red and some are white, but I never knew each plant produces several ears of corn! and these were grown from seeds, what fun!

This week I got these fabrics from connecting threads for projects for Accuquilt! (and most tops are already done!!)

I also cut out fabrics for a new pattern, I’m not totally loving the combination here, but I’ll keep going and see what it looks like, after I cut everything I realized I cut with the wrong QUBE set, but I HAD enough fabrics, so who cares, right?

We’ve had quite a “Creation Station” in my studio too, Anja learned to sew on my machines and my Janome machine has a start and stop button and I showed her decorative stitches so she just sits there and plays and sews fancy stitches on scrap fabric

Sonja made a pillow cat, she picked some orange scraps and then I gave her a FQ instead which was a single FQ I had on the shelf and the fabric was kind of like linen, so I never thought I’d use it, anyways I helped her quite a bit, with math and cutting but she did sewing and did the face and drawings on the back of the cat.

Solveig FINALLY finished this long furby, the face is clay and she made that months ago, she had make a test furby then too but this week was determined to actually make the long furby and she figured it out herself with a guide online, it has a plastic spin inside which is used for dolls, they are tiny plastic links that click together and are then bendable, pretty neat! It was a learning experience and now she wants to make another one soon!
