I haven’t been doing much sewing this week, well not on stuff I can SHOW you!!
On 3/14 Solveig and I made a Pi-Pie! This time we had a pack of puff pastry and followed a recipe online and used canned pie filling, which we’ve done before, but the pie was terrible! it looked cool, but that crust just didn’t work! – it was a pack we had bought by mistake thinking it was phyllo dough for Baklavas, so we figured we’d try it, but it just didn’t work 🙁
The day before St. Patrick’s Day Solveig had a friend over from school and I made green Aebleskiver for dinner- it’s Danish Pancake puffs and don’t they look LOVELY in green?? lol. Yeah nothing Irish about that at all 😉
My husband did make an awesome Shepherd’s Pie for the 17th. we googled what was more “Irish” or traditional to eat on St. Patrick’s Day, as the stores sold out of Corned Beef (and Cabbage) and we found out that Corned Beef has NOTHING to do with it! Shepherd’s Pie is much more traditional!! Ha!! Who knew? (also read this article)
And I finally got this for Bjorn, it’s a really late Christmas gift! The Lego Colosseum! Their biggest set yet!! They were sold out for months!
20.5″ deep, 23.5″ wide, 10.5″ tall and 9036 pieces.
He’s not home to enjoy it, but maybe he’ll come home by Easter or maybe save it for the summer?
