2020 QUBEQOVQAL Block #7 Massachusetts and #8 Rhode Island

This week I figured I we’d do two blocks!

The first block is Massachusetts!

We’re still using the 8″ QUBE set for both blocks

With Dark Blue cut a 5 1/2″ WOF strip and cut out (16) #4 triangles, save (8) for this block and (8) for later–5 1/4″ squares cut diagonally twice

(8) White of #4 triangles should already be cut — 5 1/4″ squares cut diagonally twice

also (3) of #3 large triangles should be cut already (I think from last week)– 4 7/8″ squares cut diagonally

then with white cut a 5 1/4″ WOF strip (plus maybe scraps) and cut out (23) of shape #3 save (3) for this block and put the rest aside –4 7/8″ squares cut diagonally

with white again cut a 5″ WOF and cut out (6) of #1 squares , save one for this block and put the rest aside — 4 1/2″ cut squares

also with dark blue either cut a 5″ WOF or use scraps and cut (4) #1 squares , save 1 for this block and put the rest aside — 4 1/2″ cut squares

Then it’s pretty easy, sew large HSTs together and 4 QSTs too

Then put the block together like this paying attention to the diagonal and that the star tips then are opposite too!

With Dark Red cut a 5 1/2″ WOF strip and with die shape #4 cut out (8) triangles, save (4) for this block, put the rest aside — 5 1/4″ squares cut diagonally twice

You should already have (8) white triangles cut already from die #4– 5 1/4″ squares cut diagonally twice

With Light blue cut (2) 5″ WOF strips and cut out (15) #1 squares, save (5) for this block, put the rest aside –4 1/2″ squares
