It’s December!! I can’t believe it. Well I’m glad 2020 is almost over but I don’t think 2021 will be any better, at least not in the winter, we’ll see.
So I wanted to say something about my blog and FB page, I’m sure most of my followers know that I’m a conservative Christian and I’m personal FB friends with many of you too, but I am careful about that because I get more political on my personal page.
Anyways, my IG account is linked to my FB Beaquilter page so I try to stay away from political things on there. Last week I posted a bible verse that matched up with Covid on IG and it posted on my page, someone posted that politics have nothing to do with my quilting page and to keep it just for quilting, at first I was going to let is slide, but then a few friends jumped in and defended me and I ended up deleting everything including her. So here’s my “thing” first of all it’s MY blog, MY website, MY page, I see plenty of big companies in the quilting industry take a political side and if I don’t like it or agree with it, I either ignore it or unfollow that company, it’s as simple as that! I don’t tell them to remove it. my second “thing” is that we DO (still) have the freedom of speech and freedom of religion so I can say and post whatever I want. It’s really OK if you get offended, it’s OK if I get offended! The world would be really boring if we all agreed on the same thing and thought the same thoughts, I can only think of North Korea and other communist countries where you are ordered and mandated to think a certain way and you get imprisoned or killed if you disagree. Why do we all have to speak up about being offended, grow some thick skin people! I’m so sick of it.
Oh and BTW I posted that because I needed uplifting and I thought others did too, old friends from our church who moved away a year or so ago, the husband and grown son were in a terrible motorcycle accident and week ago and had to have their left legs amputated! the dad is in a coma! (See the GoFundme) I’m hearing of others getting diagnosed with cancer others have depression! The election fraud that’s going on! Oh and then Monday my husband went back to this house he’s restoring and has been working on since January and saw that we’d been robbed! luckily nothing was vandalized, but all his tools, TV and laptop were stolen- maybe about $1500 worth, so not that big of a deal in the big scheme of things, we just feel violated! So yeah maybe I needed to post a little uplifting bible verse EVERYWHERE on social media because I felt like it, because I NEEDED it!
Well if you are still here I’d like to show that we started advent calendars now, for the first time this year I didn’t buy a lego set and split it up but I got 4 different things for the kids, for Anja I bought a big box of play-doh and wrapped those up, some days she gets 2 tubs ;), For Sonja it’s a bunch of “squishies”, for Solveig it’s 24 mini jars of jams and honey and for Bjorn it’s Haribo mini bags.
We also got the tree up last week.
I got this squishy package, a cut pincushion from Wendy thru the pincushion swap I’m hosting, thanks Wendy!!

Very well said! I agree with you. I am also a Christian and find Bible verses can be very uplifting. My husband has terminal cancer so I’m finding the need for a LOT of uplifting. My faith and my quilting are keeping me sane in the crazy time of COVID and health issues to deal with. I enjoy reading your blog every day – keep up the good work!

I totally agree with you. You blog, your thoughts, if someone doesn’t like it they can just move on. Like you said, we have freedom speech (kinda) and freedom of religion for “now”. Keep posting. It is amazing to see all of your projects for 2020

The past four years has been so hateful, depressing, tiring, and just plain crazy. To tell someone they shouldn’t post something on their own social media site is ridicules. If the rules of a Facebook page are to not post anything but quilting, I get that. But I agree with you about my blog. IT IS MY BLOG! I try to keep things neutral on my blog, but my personal FB page sometimes has posts that show a little more political feelings. We’re all tired and sick of the negativity the media has shoved in our faces. Hopefully the fears we have for the next four years will not be as bad as we think they will be. I’m so sorry for your friends and their tragic accident. They are in for a long recovery! As for your husband’s work equipment, it really makes me mad that someone thinks they deserve someone else’s property. You showed some amazing beauty with all those quilts…wow!
