Solveig had a great (small) party last weekend with 3 friends over, they played board games and wii/xbox etc…. time flew by!
Bjorn was home for the weekend too and we went to early vote (first time voters for both of us!)
Solveig and I did another clay class on Monday and found it was 7 weeks instead of 8, which was ok with us, I’ve made plenty of small stuff and she was happy with what she has done too, we donated the clay back to the studio as we won’t be using it…. Now we are going to pop in on Mondays to either glaze or pick up stuff the next few weeks until we get all our things back.
I had a finished pen holder “cup” and several buttons, I think I’ll paint those with craft paint and spray a clear coat on those, then I glazed and painted the two bowls in the front and the wonky vase in the back will be my Dr. Seuss vase, it just needs to fire and I’ll decide if I want to glaze it or paint it with glaze or paint with craft paints.

Sonja is finishing up a study about Egypt and I came across something called “lap books” it’s sort of a small scrapbook with flaps and things in it to help you remember what you learned, she got really into it, I had found some Egypt scrapbook cardstock I had from my scrapbook days so that was perfect for it!
She was super proud of the result!
I’m still surprised that the homeschooling day is about 2hrs then we’re done pretty much, I do read at night now but not every night and if it’s a craft like this one, that took all day- on my cutting table, so I couldn’t do anything! 😉 I haven’t sewn in a week I think!
We also moved my in-laws into a small cottage and out of independent living as they weren’t able to leave the building since mid March, so they wanted OUT! I don’t blame them…. So there’s a new development in town with a group of small cottages each around 800 sqft, perfect for a couple like them or a single person…. So now they can shop and see their grand kids again!!
