Block #6 is very similar to block #5 but has a different center
(I’ll show an alternate block at the bottom of the post)
For this block you’ll need fabrics A,C,D, E
and shapes #4,# 5 and #16
With fabric A cut out (4) of #4
With fabric C,D and E cut out (4) each of shape #5
then with fabric E cut out (4) of #16
here’s my 6” block pieces
and 8”
and #9 (that’s the only one where shape #4 is individual)
and here’s the 12” version in batiks
sew the D and E small #5 triangles together like this
Then sew together into this windmill block, iron the seams open!
at the same time sew the remaining #5 triangles to the sides of the trapezoid #16 fabrics like this
then sew the #4 triangles to the sides of the windmill blocks
Then sew the triangle/trapezoid pieces to the sides of the blocks and it’s done!
If you don’t have the Angles set, cut out (4) of shape #3 and use instead of the #16 and #5 shapes, using fabric E
OR you could make #16 from 3 of #5 shapes, so 12 total….look at the chart above of the original block, you might be able to figure it out 😉
Here’s blocks from last week’s participants (sorry if I missed any)
Also this weekend I’m going back to Denmark for my mom’s husband’s funeral, I’ll be back Monday night, so if you make this week’s blocks by Wednesday, I’ll get them in next week’s post, otherwise they’ll have to wait
Thank you so much for adding the block diagram with die number and fabric letter. This is very helpful for me.
I LOVE that Frister & Rossman machine. Sew pretty!
