This week’s block is sort of a bear claw. it’s a 3/4 block.
You’ll need the regular QUBE set with it and dies #2,3 and 5
Fabrics A, D and E
with die #2 cut 1 of E
with die #3 cut out 1 of A and D (I know it cuts 2, just put the extras aside, we might use it later)
with #5 cut out 4 of A and E
with my 8” version I am using FQs and I swapped a few fabrics and also found some #5s I had already cut out another time.
with the 6” version I swapped D and with B fabrics, I was just sick of the blue plaid….
Start by sewing the HSTs together, 1 large set and 4 small ones
Then lay out the block pieces, the claw fabric is the same as the bottom left of the large HST.
sew the 2 sets of HSTs together
Then sew the corner small square to the top “claws” and the right claws to the side of the large HST unit like this
Then finish the block like this.
Here’s my 4 versions
Now my 6 and 9” versions have As (the claws be dark) the 8” and 12” have A’s as light, but I switched something with the 8” version so the claws are dark on that one too, it really doesn’t matter much
an easy block! have fun!
